SLO EarthFest, 2025

On our ninth year, Mothers for Nuclear decided it was time to apply to participate in our local San Luis Obispo Earthfest. Our local community has been a challenge to engage with, and we wanted to give it time. The Mothers for Peace have been active in this space for a long time, and many participants in the Climate Coalition have strong and negative-leaning feelings about nuclear. There was a fair amount of negotiation behind the scenes to make this possible, and we’re happy to announce that a democratic process at the SLO Climate Coalition decided to let us participate!

Bees love nuclear energy - because nuclear leaves more room for nature! Energy density is real.

These ladies were skeptics, but brought curiosity and kindness to our discussion. We care about the same things.

Lots of people interested in our booth - we had gummy bears the size of fuel pellets, tons of stickers, and radioactive, glowing uranium glass!
