2021 Rally to Save Clean Energy
What do we want? Clean Energy! When do we want it? NOW!
Mothers for Nuclear partnered with Save Clean Energy and Isabelle Boemeke to host one of the largest pro-nuclear rallies the west coast has ever seen! The all-female speaker team marched into the rally holding a huge blimp representing 1 tonne of CO2 and chanting “Save the planet, save the plant!”

Everyone agrees that continued operation of Diablo Canyon is the right thing to do. A new report by Stanford and MIT demonstrates the value of the plant. Now, we just need Gavin Newsom and the California legislature to stand up and say so.

As follow up to the rally, Izzy organized dozens of influential names to write Newsom a letter. And shortly after that, our own SLO County Supervisors also wrote to Newsom. This huge showing of public support for Diablo and nuclear energy surely helped make it safe for people with decision-making power to also support Diablo.
