Texas Advanced Nuclear & Workforce Development

Texas Mother for Nuclear Dani Zigon recently got to visit Texas A&M University for the first time. While there, she spoke to 500 middle and high schoolers about nuclear power as part of ReCENT’s PowerUp program.

This is a mural of 300 of their dreams that will be powered or enabled by clean energy and nuclear power technology. (You can download a high-res copy of the mosaic HERE!)

While she was there, she also got to:
- check out the famed Texas A&M-RELLIS Campus and set eyes on Last Energy’s (literal) groundbreaking
- visit their TRIGA which happens to be led by Jere Jenkins who was her reactor director while at Purdue and the reason she chose to study nuclear engineering

Dani’s outreach comes as national attention grows around Texas’s nuclear future including being featured today in a top story highlighted by Nuclear SmartBrief discussing the urgent need for the next generation of nuclear workers in Texas.
