Nuclear Science and History Museum, ABQ

Docents and gift store attendants at the museum loved our nuclear stickers! ♥️⚛️

Certainly one of the most fun parts of the museum is “At Play in the Atomic Age”. There are Uranium Rush mining games, radiation detection kits, and even scarier-sounding things like Meltdown and Containment!

There was a great exhibit on the RadioFlyer wagon and how it was used extensively at the lab.

Reading through these exhibits, it’s hard not to wonder about Germany’s anti-nuclear attitude today. They are stubbornly holding out against so much evidence and good science about how nuclear will help us combat climate change and improve energy independence for all of Europe.

Wait, are we scared of radiation, or are we scared of war?

The peoples of this world must unite or they will perish

Robert Oppenheimer has a complex history with nuclear technology, and actively advocated against building more powerful hydrogen bombs after Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Find out more about how Oppenheimer’s family continues to push for international cooperation and increased unity to address existential threats that arise from the growth of science and technology at The Oppenheimer Project.

From radioactive dishes and jewelry to skin creams and soaps, radiation is all around us.

We live in an energy hungry world. We advocate for nuclear, not just to reduce emissions, but to provide even more power for people to live high quality lives.

Atoms for Peace

The big three - we get so many questions about these. Hope this helps people understand a bit of what happened.

There’s so much great stuff in the gift shop. We really hope you can get there and visit, and pick up all kinds of nuclear (and other!) science paraphernalia, even geiger counters!
