Chicago Pile

We visited the site of the Chicago Pile 2.

It was a beautiful walk through the Palos Forest Preserve (now Red Gate Woods) in Illinois to the area formerly known as Site A. We got some sprinkles, some muddy feet, and a few bug bites in order to see a block of concrete, but the hike was still worth it for this amazing piece of history.
